Chocolate Piped Thank You Cake

 This cake was meant as a thank you for my daughter's speech therapist, who is leaving the practice. So, as a farewell, we wanted to say thank you. I made red velvet cake without the food coloring. Do you call that velvet cake? And frosted it with chocolate frosting. Then I used two different piping tips. A small star tip and a large open star tip. I also rolled out some white fondant and cut it into a heart shape and placed it in the middle of the cake. Then I painted the words on with black food coloring. I painted the phrase "Danke für die Hilfe" which means "Thank you for the help". Then I piped some swirls along the edge of the cake. And I piped a shell border along the bottom of the cake. I piped some flourishes along the side of the cake. I also piped a shell border along the edge of the heart and added some rainbow sprinkles for color. I love how this cake turned out. Vegan Mint Chocolate Cake

 This cake was requested by Byron for his birthday. Happy birthday, Byron. I made a 6-inch vegan chocolate cake. I also made some vegan dark chocolate ganache by using vegan dark chocolate and vegan cream. I filled the cake with it. Then I frosted the cake with my vegan mint buttercream from last week. I used the ganache to drip on the edge of the cake. I piped swirls of mint buttercream on top of the cake. Then I cut the vegan dark chocolate into squares. And put them onto the swirls. I love this cake. It looks so good. It's the kind of cake you just can't resist trying. Happy birthday, Byron. Recipe: Mint Vegan American Buttercream

 I have a very plain recipe up on my channel for Vegan American Buttercream. However, that one doesn't have much flavor and isn't really meant to taste good so much as it is meant to look pretty. So, I decided it was time to make a vegan American buttercream recipe that has actual flavor. Let's start with mint. Mint Vegan American Buttercream: 1/2 cup (125g) vegan margarine 4 cups (500g) powdered sugar 4-5 tbsp water or plant-based milk 1 tsp mint extract turquoise food coloring (optional) Cream butter. Slowly add powdered sugar, adding water a tablespoon at a time to achieve consistency. It should look something like this. Add flavoring and food coloring. This buttercream is still quite sweet, but it is no longer flavorless. Bread Baking: Wheat Crackers

This time I just wanted a fast and tasty recipe to snack on. So, wheat crackers it is. Thin Wheat Crackers: 3/4 cup (95g) whole wheat flour 1/2 cup (62g) white flour 1 1/2 tsp sugar 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 cup (62g) butter 4-5 tbsp water Combine dry ingredients.  Cut in butter.  Add water slowly until dough sticks together. Knead briefly.  Roll out very thin.  Cut into squares.  Add holes.  Sprinkle with more salt.  Bake at 400°F or 200°C for 6-8 minutes.
