Pastel Rainbow Baptism Cake

Image
This cake was for my daughter's baptism. She asked for vanilla cake filled and frosted with Oreo Swiss meringue buttercream. I covered the cake with white fondant. I colored more fondant in pastel rainbow colors. I cut out the words Natalie Taufe (baptism) from the rainbow colors. I placed the words on the cake. Then I started the rainbow hearts on the side of the cake. Starting with purple. Then blue. Then green and yellow. Then orange and pink. Then I made these hearts from a press mold in every color. And I placed them all over the cake in the same color section. I love how this cake turned out. Natalie was so excited. She just radiated joy. Congratulations, Natalie. Baptism Cake with pink flowers

Image
This cake was for a friend of my kids. She just turned 8 and is getting baptized. I made a 7-inch vanilla cake and filled and frosted it with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream. While the cake was chilling, I made the figure for the top. I made a cone of white fondant and cut off the top. I added a head and neck on a toothpick. I added the arms. And blond hair. And I added a small bouquet of tiny ribbon roses. Back to cake. I covered it in white fondant. I put the figure on the cake and used a fondant press form to make the name Naomi and placed it on the cake. I rolled out some pink fondant and cut out some flowers. I also used a ball tool on one of them and thinned out the petals. I started placing them around the cake. I kept placing them until I was happy with it. I also painted on a face on the figure with brown food coloring. I think this cake turned out lovely. It was just what I wanted to make for 8-year-old Naomi. Congratulations on your baptism, Naomi. Three-tiered Baptism Cake

Image
This monster of a cake was an order from a friend of mine for her son's baptism.  I started out making a 9-inch lemon cake. And I frosted it with lemon Swiss meringue buttercream. And I stacked a 7-inch chocolate cake on a piece of cardboard covered in aluminum foil filled and frosted with milk chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream. And I cut another piece of cardboard about the size of the book cake I wanted to make. Then I trimmed the chocolate cake the size I wanted. And I filled and frosted the cake with chocolate Swiss meringue buttercream. I cooled each cake in the fridge while I worked on the other tiers. I frosted each tier again. I covered the lemon cake with white fondant. I covered the middle tier with blue fondant. I rolled out some white fondant and pressed some wooden skewers into it. And I wrapped it around three sides of the cake. Then I rolled out some dark red fondant and cut it as close to the size as possible and laid it over the cake to be the cover of the...
