White Christening Cake

Image
This cake is for a baby christening. This particular design is white on white to symbolize the purity of the child after the baptism. I started out frosting an 8-inch round cake dummy on a gold cake board. And I also frosted a 6-inch cake dummy on a piece of cardboard. And I covered both tiers with white fondant. And I stacked the six-inch on top of the 8-inch. And I rolled some snakes of white together and laid them between the tiers and around the bottom of the cake. And I rolled out some white fondant and cut out a cross. And I placed it on top of the cake. I think it turned out beautiful. Very elegant and clean. Pink Zebra Cake

Image
I have two girls. So I had to make my zebra cake pink. As usual during the pandemic, I don't have an occasion to bring this cake to, so I am decorating an 8-inch cake dummy. I frosted it with vegan American buttercream. I covered the cake with pink fondant. And I smoothed it on with my hands. Trimmed off the excess and pressed the lip tight into the cake. And trimmed off the last lip. Then, to make zebra stripes, I just made some squiggly stripes and then cut them in half with a diagonal line. Each stripe should end in a point. I placed them on the edge of the cake. So, this is where we are now. Looking great so far! Then I cut more pointed stripes, this time pointed on both ends, and placed them in roughly the same direction. You do want some element of randomness. But how sweet is this pink zebra cake? It's perfect for the girly zebra stripe fan. Watch us make this girly zebra cake on our YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/gMHWFVwLW8A Schaut zu wie wir diese mädchenhafte...

Peace Offering Apology Cake

Image
As I was thinking about it, I realized that birthdays and weddings aren't the only occasions that warrant a cake. Some people feel very bad about something and want to apologize. This may not be the most common reasons to need a cake, but this is what I came up with if you want to apologize big time. Once again, because this is not for an actual occasion, I am decorating a 6-inch cake dummy. I frost the cake with vegan American buttercream. I cover the cake with white fondant. And trim the fondant to the cake. Now, I'm decorating my cake with these three colors: blue, pink and purple. I want to marble them together a bit. Then I cut out a large circle from the marbled fondant. And I cut a peace sign out of that. I just felt that an apology cake is a peace offering. So, what is better for a peace offering than a peace sign? I turned the design upside down to hide the guide lines and placed it on top of the cake. Then I cut out a whole bunch of flowers out of the marbled fondant...

Fondant Christmas Cake

Image
I just felt like making a sweet and adorable Christmas cake. This cake is a hybrid. The top tier is pumpkin spice cake and the bottom tier is a cake dummy. I filled and frosted the cake. I frosted the cake dummy. And covered both tiers in white fondant. Then I stacked the tiers on top of each other. I used a gingerbread man cutter to cut out some gingerbread men out of red fondant. And I placed some small trees out of green marzipan around the top tier. Then I cut out some holly leaves and placed them in groups of twos between the red gingerbread men. As well as three together on the top. Then I placed some red balls of fondant at the base of each group of holly leaves. As well as two on each tree. I also placed some yellow stars on top of the trees. I placed a thin strip of yellow on the trees to be garlands. And yellow stars along the bottom tier. Finally, I cut out some white snowflakes and placed them around the top of the cake. But how cute is this cake? It's sweet and adorab...
