Rosalina Cake from Super Mario Bros

Image
This cake was a request from a channel viewer. Byron wanted this cake for his birthday. So, happy birthday, Byron. This is Rosalina: I frosted a 6-inch cake dummy with vegan American buttercream. Then I covered the cake with pastel turquoise fondant.  Then I started making the 2D figure of Rosalina. I used a picture as a reference and cut out one color at a time. I added some black food coloring to highlight the facial features. I added a twisted rope of white and yellow fondant along the bottom of the cake and added some yellow stars along the side. I love how it turned out. I think it looks just like Rosalina.  Happy Birthday, Byron. Pink Flowers Cake for Spring

Image
I decided I wanted to make a pretty flowers cake for spring. I started out coloring some old fondant pink, light green, yellow and blue.  I frosted a 4-inch cake dummy with vegan American buttercream. I rolled out some pink fondant. I covered the cake dummy with it. But this fondant was a bit dry and cracking. That's ok. We'll cover the cracks with decorations. I rolled out the green fondant and cut out some leaves. I rolled out the yellow and blue and cut out some flowers as well as some pink.   We placed some leaves and yellow flowers first to cover the cracks. They covered most of them. Then I placed the blue and pink flowers.  I love how cute this cake turned out. It's such a sweet celebration of spring. Dragon Welcome Back Cake

Image
This cake was for a friend's son who just returned from a trip abroad for two years. And he really loves dragons. So, this is a dragon-themed welcome home cake. This is 9-inch red velvet cake. I filled the cake with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream. I also frosted the cake with the buttercream. Then I chilled the cake in the fridge. I rolled out some red fondant and traced around this printout of a dragon I am using with a modelling tool. It left this imprint in the red fondant. Then I traced it again without the printout to make the lines more visible. Then I cut out the dragon. I placed the dragon on black fondant and cut around it to stabilize it. I placed it on a piece of cardboard to set aside for later. Then I frosted the cake again. I covered the cake with white fondant and trimmed it to shape. Then I placed the dragon on top of the cake. Then I rolled out a thin strip of red fondant and wrapped it around the cake, forming a tie in the front. Then I rolled out some black ...
