Christmas Sprinkles Cake

Image
This is a simple buttercream Christmas cake with sprinkles. I put some buttercream in a piping bag with a star tip. I frosted a 6-inch cake dummy with vegan American buttercream. I piped some simple drop flowers as borders on the bottom of the cake and at the top edge of the cake. Then I piped a tall swirl in the middle of the cake. I had these fantastic Christmas sprinkles. We have red, green and white trees, red and white candy canes, gold and white snowmen and blue and white snowflakes. I alternated colors of tree sprinkles around the tall swirl. I also alternated colors of snowmen sprinkles around the bottom of the cake, white and blue snowflake sprinkles around the edge of the cake, and red and white candy canes around the side of the cake and the top of the cake. I really like this cute little cake. It's really simple and festive. Merry Christmas! New Year's Sprinkles Cake

Image
This is a simple, cake to celebrate the new year. I started out decorating a 6-inch round cake dummy. And I covered the cake with a mix of sprinkles. And I cleaned up the cake board. I piped a border along the bottom. And stars along the top edge of the cake. Then I cut out the year 2022 with white fondant and placed it on the middle of the cake. Happy New Year! New Year's Buttercream Cake

Image
This cake was a bit spontaneous. But it's perfect for New Year's Eve! First, I put a bit of buttercream in a couple of bowls. I colored them with black and ivory food coloring. Lovely colors! Then I placed a cake dummy in the middle of a cake board. And frosted it with vegan American buttercream. I also spread some buttercream on the cake board. I put the black buttercream in a piping bag with a small round tip and the ivory buttercream in a piping bag with a medium star tip. I discovered I didn't have the right size alphabet cutter to use as an imprint, so I freehanded the numbers on the clock face. Then I piped the clock hands pointing to just before midnight. I piped some swirls and stars along the side with the ivory food coloring. And I piped a star border along the edge of the clock face. I am using this glamour sprinkles mix that I got from Rewe today. I mixed all of the sprinkles together which were black, gold and white in color. Isn't that lovely? And I sprea...

Dress up a Sheet Cake: New Year's Eve Cake

Image
This year, I decided to make a cake for new year's eve. This is what I came up with. I started out coloring my buttercream black.  It took a couple of attempts,  But it eventually darkened to a point that I was happy with it.  Then I frosted my sheet cake with the black buttercream.  I also had several different colors of sprinkles I wanted to use. Gold, silver and pearl.  I used a cake pan to impress a large circle.  And I put some white buttercream in a piping bag with a small round tip.  I traced the circle with the white buttercream.  Then I piped the Roman numerals onto the clock.  I also piped some clock hands pointing to twelve.  Then I piped some fireworks onto the corners and along the sides by simply piping some stars.  I added some gold star sprinkles.  And I added gold and pearl sprinkles onto the fireworks as well as some white sanding sugar on the top of the cake. ...
