Blue and White Baptism Cake - cake idea for a man
This cake was originally for a baptism of a man I didn't know very well. So, I needed a design that would work for just about any occasion. This is what I came up with. I had made seven inch vegan chocolate cake layers and froze them. I had also made the cream cheese frosting ahead of time and kept it in the freezer. While I was waiting for them to thaw, I made some decorations. I decided to keep this cake down to two colors: white and dark blue. I cut out letters and numbers for the name of the man getting baptized, Daniel, and the date of the baptism. I also cut out a number of simple flowers out of fondant. If I had two of the same flower, I only cut out two of each one. If I had three of the same flower, I cut out two of the largest and smallest cutter and four of the middle size. Then I cut out exactly as many blue flowers as the white. Then I stacked them on top of each other. White on blue and blue on white. I filled and frosted my cake and covered the top...
