Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Who hasn't been there before? You're craving some good chocolate chip cookies and the recipe you try is dry and hard when all you wanted was crispy and chewy. It's happened to me. So, I've always been on the lookout for a great chocolate chip recipe. Then a friend of mine made some and brought them to an event. I immediately asked her for her recipe because they were amazing. So these are courtesy of my dear friend, Britnae Sanelli.

Chocolate Chip Cookies:
1 cup (250g) butter
1 cup (200g) brown sugar (please note that this should be American soft brown sugar. See my post on how to make American brown sugar if you can't find it.)
3/4 cup (150g) sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp vanilla extract or 3 tbsp vanilla sugar
3 cups (375g) flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3 cups (around 500g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate bars

Cream butter and sugars together. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla.
Then add salt, baking soda and flour and mix until combined.

Mix or fold in chocolate last.
These also taste amazing with a cup of chopped nuts. Drop them onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper with a teaspoon or tablespoon.
Bake at 350°F or 180°C for 8-12 minutes depending on how crispy you like your cookies. 8-10 minutes for a soft cookie, 10-12 minutes for a crispy cookie. Makes about 5-6 dozen using a teaspoon to drop them. Around 4 dozen larger cookies.
