Candy Cane Christmas Cake

This cake was to use up some leftovers I had in the freezer. And I wanted a simple, Christmas design.

So, I started with banana cake and Swiss meringue buttercream and stacked it.
 Then I frosted it with Swiss meringue buttercream.
 And I covered the cake with white fondant.
 Then I rolled some red and white fondant into snakes and twisted them together.
 I made one rather short length and a nice long length.
 I wrapped the long one around the bottom of the cake.
 Then I bent the shorter length into the form of a candy cane.
 So simple, yet so Christmasy.
 And this cake really didn't take much time at all.
