Recipe: Homemade Granola Bars

My daughter loves granola bars. And we love sending them with her to school. However, she doesn't always like the ones we buy. So, we decided to make our own. This is just the base recipe. You can personalize it any way you want.

Homemade Granola Bars:
1 cup (250g) soft and creamy peanut butter
2/3 cup (200g) honey or rice syrup or corn syrup
1 tsp vanilla
pinch salt
2 1/2 (225g) cups oats
1/3 cup (50g) mini chocolate chips or raisins or cranberries
3 tbsp seeds or nuts of any kind

Stir the peanut butter, honey, vanilla and salt together until smooth.

Add all the rest of the ingredients and stir until combined.

Press the mixture onto a lined 8x8 inch baking pan and place it in the fridge to set up completely. This will take at least an hour.

Cut into bars.

Store in the fridge or freezer.
