Buttercream Valentine's Day Cake

This year I wanted to make something relatively simple, but really pretty. I was just feeling buttercream flower vibes.

I started out with a 4-inch cake dummy frosted with vegan American buttercream.

Then I had three colors of buttercream: white, red and pink. White buttercream in a piping bag with a half round, half star tip. Red and pink buttercream in piping bags with petal tips.
I started out piping two petals, or a rough heart, onto the bottom of the cake.
Then I piped a large pink rose onto the top of the cake.
And I piped some red flowers and red petals along the bottom.
I surrounded the rose with white stars.
Then I piped a bunch of rose buds on a flower nail.
And transferred them to the top of the cake.
Then I piped some white stars between the hearts along the bottom, a shell border along the edge and a rope border along the back edge of the cake.
I think this cake is really sweet and romantic.
It's perfect for Valentine's Day.
