Bread Baking: Keto-friendly Bread

If you're not familiar with Keto, it's a high protein, high fat, low carb diet. Ordinary bread made with wheat flour is not compatible with the Keto diet. So, this bread contains no wheat flour.

However, I am not at all a Keto expert, so if you want more Keto-friendly recipes, check out the site I found this recipe on: wholesomeyum.com

Keto-friendly Bread:
1 cup (100g) almond flour
1/3 cup (40g) coconut flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 tbsp artificial sweetener
1/3 cup (80g) butter, melted
12 egg whites

Whisk all the dry ingredient together.

Add melted butter and mix until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In a large mixing bowl, whip the egg whites to stiff peaks. If you're having trouble getting the eggs to whip properly, try adding a tsp of cream of tartar.

Once the eggs are whipped and nice and stiff, carefully fold the crumbly dough into the eggs.

Pour the mixture into a lined bread pan and bake at 325°F or 160°C for 45 minutes. Cover the top with tin foil and bake another 30-40 minutes. You can tell that the bread is cooked all the way through if you touch the top and it doesn't make a sound.

In the interests of full disclosure, I must admit that I did not care for this recipe. However, I also don't follow the keto diet. I love traditional bread far too much to care for bread that doesn't taste like bread. However, if you do follow keto, I am told that it's pretty good.
Hope you enjoy it! Let me know in the comments what you thought of it.
