Rainbow Galaxy Unicorn Birthday Cake

This cake was for my daughter's birthday party. She wanted to invite a bunch of friends to the park to play for a few hours and wanted a two-tiered cake for the occasion.

The bottom tier was 7 inch funfetti cake filled and frosted with white chocolate ganache.

I also filled the cake with sprinkles.

While the crumb coat is setting up, I stacked the top tier. I stacked the 5 inch red velvet cake on a piece of cardboard covered in tin foil.
I filled and frosted the cake with white chocolate ganache.
Then I frosted both tiers again to get a nice, smooth coat.

I covered the bottom tier with blue fondant.
And the top tier with black fondant. My concept was looking up through the sky to space beyond.
I added some dowels to the bottom tier to support the top tier.
Then I stacked the tiers.
But I had to repair a tear in the black fondant.
Then I mixed some pink, purple, blue and teal food coloring with clear alcohol and a bit of white food coloring to keep the color from being too transparent.
I painted on clouds of the various colors.
And splattered the cake with flecks of white.
Then I added my daughter's name with white.
And cut outs of unicorns in white on the galaxy.

I also added rainbows around the bottom of the cake and rolled some white snakes with texture to represent clouds to go between the tiers and along the bottom of the cake.
The rainbow 9 candle really completes the cake.
I am in love with this cake.
It turned out miles away from the previous cake, but is still a rainbow unicorn theme.
Sabrina loved it. That was the most important thing.
Happy ninth birthday, Sabrina.
