Spilled Wine and Cheese Cake

This is a France-inspired spilled wine and cheese cake.

I started out frosting an 8-inch cake dummy on a large cake board.

I had also bought a cheap wine glass at a kind of German equivalent to a dollar store.
I rolled out some wine-colored fondant and cut out a spill shape.
I laid it on the cake.
I realized quickly I need to prop up the wine glass, as wine glass stems are quite heavy. I am using an old piece of orange fondant that has hardened to stone texture.
I pressed some of the wine-colored fondant on one side of the wine glass.

Then I cut the dark purple into pieces and rolled them into grapes.
And I pressed them onto the chunk of hard fondant, sticking them on with buttercream.

And I placed the glass on the cake. But there is still a chunk of orange visible.

I made a chunk of "cheese" with yellow fondant and made holes with round piping tips.

I also made a couple slices.
I placed the wedge over the exposed orange fondant and placed the slices of "cheese" on the sides of the cake.
But I love the ambiance of this cake.
It reminds me of my time in France.
Bon appetit!
