Recipe: Another White Cake Recipe

 I thought it would be nice to have an alternative recipe for white cake. This one is from Betty Crocker.

White Cake:
2 cups (250g) flour
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup (180g) butter
1 1/2 cups (300g) sugar
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract or 1 1/2 tbsp vanilla sugar
1 cup (225mL) milk
5 egg whites

Separate the eggs.
Beat egg whites to stiff peaks and set aside.
Cream butter.
Beat in sugar, baking powder and salt.
Add vanilla.
Alternate adding 1/3 of the flour.
And half the milk.
1/3 flour.
1/2 milk.
1/3 flour. Scrape the sides.
Fold in egg whites.

Bake at 325°F or 170°C for 30-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
This cake gets a brown outside, but the inside is gorgeous and white.
It's light and fluffy and lovely.
