Unicorn Cake with Rainbow Butterfly Mane

This cake is for my daughter's seventh birthday. She helped design the cake.

I baked an 8-inch rainbow vanilla cake.

I filled and frosted the cake with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream.

I covered the cake with white fondant.
I made a unicorn horn out of white fondant onto a wooden skewer.
And placed it in the middle of the cake.
I made the eyes and eyelashes out of gray fondant and placed it on the side of the cake.
And placed a gray log around the bottom of the cake.
The I cut out a whole bunch of butterflies out of rainbow colored fondant beginning with red and orange.

I continued placing rainbow butterflies on the man until it was completely filled up.
I'm really happy with this cake.
I think it's really sweet and colorful.
My daughter loved it, which is what is most important.
Happy Birthday, Natalie.
