Bread Baking: Crusty Bread Rolls
This recipe is for those who love the crust of the bread.
Crusty Bread Rolls:
1 1/2 cups (340mL) warm water
2 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp dry yeast
4 cups (500g) flour
2 tbsp oil
1 tsp salt
Add about half the flour to a large mixing bowl and combine with salt.
Stir in oil and yeast mixture. Knead in rest of the flour.
Allow to rise about an hour.
Shape into about hand-sized balls.
Place on a lined baking sheet.
Allow to rise about half an hour and cut a cross into the top of the roll. Brush with water.
Bake at 350°F or 180°C for about 20 minutes. Remove from oven and brush with butter.
These bread rolls are absolutely delicious.
The crust is lovely and the bread soft.
